At Grace Lutheran School our kindergarten programs follows our preschool program and continues to build on the knowledge and experience gained during those years. Students who are five-years-old by September 1st are eligible for this program.
Kindergarten meets Monday - Friday from 8:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
In kindergarten students will learn God's wonderful plan of salvation and know that Jesus is their personal Savior. Students will learn about the wonders of God's creation through the study of our core curriculum. All subjects are taught in the light of God's Word.
Bible History is taught using stories from the Old and New Testament.
Math is taught using a hands-on, success-orientated series that emphasizes manipulatives and mental math.
The focus of language artst is letter recognition and sounds and beginning writing and reading. We stress a phonetic approach to reading and writing.
Science and social studies are learned through reading non-fiction books, making books, and completing age appropriate activities.
Music is taught through a wide variety of songs and rhythm instruments.
Physical education is taught through activities and games. The children develop hand-eye coordination, eye-foot coordinationn, and balance and basic body movement.
